1968 Alberg #298

Fast forward one year and the Aberg is now on the hard under a metal shelter that we installed just for the refit. While we made a good attempt to revive her as she was, it became obvious that we were over our heads trying to refit her while in the water.

After taking it down to the fiberglass, we were relived that there had been some work done on the hull apparently just prior to when she was parked for a three year period. Our plan is for a refit on the exterior as well as the interior. Having sat with about a foot of water inside, the inside was beyond making it livable. I had replaced the port lights and started stripping everything out when we decided it would be easier to put her on the hard and give us access to the exterior for painting, as well as being able to work on her with out regard to the weather or being bothered by boats passing by rocking our world while we try to work.

Stay tuned for updates as we progress. The serious work will start after we return from our cruise south to the Caribbean in 2023-2024.
